PRIVACY POLICY FOR UP.LINK

Last Updated: August 5, 2026

Jamsoft Inc. (“Jamsoft,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Up.Link (the “App”), an iOS application available through the Apple App Store.

1. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

Up.Link does not require you to create an account. We do not ask you to provide your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, payment information, or other direct personal identifiers to use the App.

The App does not access your contacts, precise location, photos, camera, or microphone.

We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party behavioral analytics, or tracking technologies. We do not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

2. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

Up.Link stores information locally on your device so that the App can remember your choices and provide its features. This information may include:

Your selected professional lens and other onboarding choices.

Muted topics, followed entities, watchlist rules, briefing preferences, notification settings, tracked development tools, and filter settings.

Saved article bookmarks and offline article snapshots.

Previously generated impact notes, briefing summaries, release summaries, and story classifications.

Recent visit information used to create “Catch Me Up” summaries.

A limited cache of generated briefing audio.

This information is stored within the App’s private storage on your device. Jamsoft does not operate a user-profile database containing this information.

Up.Link does not implement iCloud synchronization. However, Apple may include App data in an iPhone or iPad backup depending on your device and iCloud backup settings. Any such backup is controlled by Apple and your Apple account settings.

3. LIVE NEWS AND INTERNET ACCESS

Up.Link connects to the internet to retrieve technology news, cybersecurity information, software release information, and other public content.

Sources may include technology publishers, RSS or Atom feeds, the Hacker News API, the United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and public GitHub release feeds.

When the App connects to these services, the service operator may automatically receive standard network information, such as your Internet Protocol address, request time, requested resource, and basic device or connection information. This information is handled according to the privacy practices of the applicable service operator.

4. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FEATURES

Up.Link uses Google’s Firebase AI Logic and Gemini services to provide features such as:

Impact Lens explanations.

Daily briefing summaries and narration.

Ask the News responses.

Watchlist matching.

Story signal and hype classification.

Software release summaries.

When these features operate, the App may transmit relevant information to Google’s services. Depending on the feature, this may include publicly sourced article titles, summaries, source names, release notes, your selected professional lens, watchlist rules, questions you enter, limited recent conversation context, or a briefing script.

Do not include confidential, sensitive, or personally identifying information in questions or watchlist rules.

Firebase AI Logic and the applicable Gemini API provider process these requests to generate responses. Their handling, retention, and permitted use of submitted information are governed by Google’s applicable terms and privacy documentation and may depend on the Firebase project’s service and billing configuration.

5. FIREBASE REMOTE CONFIG AND APP INTEGRITY

Up.Link uses Firebase Remote Config to retrieve operational configuration, including the AI models available to the App.

The App also uses Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest to help confirm that requests come from an authentic copy of Up.Link running on a legitimate Apple device. As part of this process, Google and Apple may process app or device attestation material, security tokens, Internet Protocol addresses, application identifiers, and limited technical information necessary to validate requests, prevent abuse, and operate their services.

This information is handled according to Google’s and Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policies.

6. NOTIFICATIONS

Up.Link may request permission to send notifications for Daily Uplink briefings and watchlist matches.

These notifications are optional. Up.Link schedules them locally through Apple’s notification system. The App does not require a Jamsoft account or a Jamsoft-operated push-notification profile.

You can disable notifications at any time in the Settings app on your Apple device.

7. AUDIO NARRATION

Up.Link can read briefings aloud using either on-device Apple speech synthesis or AI-generated audio produced through Google’s Gemini services.

When AI-generated narration is available, the briefing script is transmitted to Google for audio generation. A limited number of generated audio files may be cached locally on your device for playback. Older cached narration files are automatically removed by the App.

The App does not record audio and does not access your microphone.

8. EXTERNAL ARTICLES, LINKS, AND SHARING

When you choose to open an original article, Up.Link presents the publisher’s website using Apple’s in-app Safari technology. The publisher or website operator may collect information, use cookies, or apply its own tracking practices. Jamsoft does not control the privacy practices or content of external websites.

When you use an Apple share sheet, the information you select is sent only to the person, application, or service you choose. The receiving service’s privacy policy applies to information you share.

9. HOW INFORMATION IS USED

Information processed through Up.Link is used only to:

Provide and personalize the App’s news, briefing, watchlist, bookmarking, filtering, narration, and AI features.

Retrieve current news and software-release information.

Remember your settings and saved content.

Generate requested or automated AI-assisted summaries and classifications.

Deliver optional local notifications.

Protect Firebase and AI services from fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

Maintain the security and reliability of the App and its connected services.

10. INFORMATION SHARING

We disclose information only as necessary to provide the App’s features, comply with the law, protect legal rights, or maintain the security of the App.

Service providers used by the App include Google and Firebase for AI processing, configuration, and app-integrity verification; Apple for App Store distribution, device services, notifications, Safari presentation, speech synthesis, and App Attest; and the publishers and public data providers from which the App retrieves content.

We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with advertising networks or data brokers.

11. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Locally stored information generally remains on your device until you remove it, change the applicable setting, clear the relevant feature, or uninstall the App.

Ask the News conversation history is maintained only for the active App session and can be cleared within the feature.

Bookmarks remain until you remove them or uninstall the App.

Generated summaries and classifications may remain in local caches until replaced, automatically removed, or deleted when the App is uninstalled.

Third-party service providers may retain technical information, AI requests, responses, or service data according to their applicable terms, configuration, and retention policies.

Because Up.Link does not create user accounts, Jamsoft generally cannot identify or remotely delete information stored only on your device.

11. DATA SECURITY

We use reasonable technical safeguards designed to protect the App and its data. Up.Link uses encrypted HTTPS connections for supported network communications, Apple-protected local storage for saved bookmarks, bounded local caches, and app-integrity validation for Firebase requests.

No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. INTERNATIONAL DATA PROCESSING

Google, Apple, content providers, and other service operators may process information in the United States or other countries where they or their service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.

13. YOUR CHOICES AND PRIVACY RIGHTS

You can:

Decline or disable notifications through your device settings.

Remove individual bookmarks, followed entities, watchlist rules, muted topics, and other preferences within the App.

Clear an Ask the News conversation using its Clear control.

Avoid entering personal or sensitive information into questions and watchlist rules.

Delete locally stored App data by uninstalling Up.Link, subject to any device backups controlled through your Apple account.

Contact Jamsoft regarding a privacy question or request.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning personal information processed by Jamsoft or its service providers. Because the App does not require an account, we may need sufficient information to understand and verify any request, and we may be unable to identify information that exists only on your device.

14. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Up.Link is not directed to children under 13 or the equivalent minimum age in the applicable jurisdiction. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the App, contact us so that we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

15. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Up.Link, its service providers, or applicable legal requirements.

When we make changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date and publish the updated Privacy Policy through the location where this policy is made available. Changes become effective when the updated policy is posted unless otherwise stated.
