PRIVACY POLICY FOR SHUTTERVOICE
Last Updated: June 25, 2026
Jamsoft Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in ShutterVoice, our voice-first photo editing app for Apple devices.
Overview
ShutterVoice lets you import or take photos, edit them with touch controls or voice commands, use local photo adjustments, use AI-powered photo edits when available, batch edit photos, save edited images to Apple Photos, and use Apple system features such as Share Sheet, Siri Shortcuts, and Visual Intelligence where supported.
ShutterVoice is designed to keep ordinary editing local whenever possible. Some features, especially Gemini-powered AI photo editing and AI command understanding, require network processing through Firebase and Google services as described below.
Information We Do Not Ask You to Provide
ShutterVoice does not require you to create a named account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, contacts, or precise location in order to use the app.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising networks. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Photos and Edited Content
ShutterVoice processes photos that you choose to import, capture, share to the app, or provide through supported Apple system features.
Local editing features, including standard adjustments, cropping, rotation, local auto-enhance, local recipes, and supported on-device fallbacks, are processed on your device.
When you choose an AI photo edit that uses Gemini through Firebase AI Logic, the photo being edited, the edit instruction, and any mask or selected edit area needed to complete the request may be sent to Google/Firebase services for processing. The edited result is returned to the app so you can review, continue editing, or save it.
For batch AI edits, each selected photo may be processed with the instruction you provide. AI edits use ShutterVoice AI credits or subscription allowance where applicable.
We do not maintain a separate Jamsoft database of your photo library or edited images.
Voice Commands, Microphone, and Speech Recognition
ShutterVoice uses the microphone only when you choose to start voice input. The app uses Apple’s Speech framework to transcribe your spoken command. When supported by the device and operating system, ShutterVoice requests on-device speech recognition.
If Gemini command understanding is available and you have AI credits or an active allowance, ShutterVoice may send the final text transcript of your command, together with limited recent command context, to Google/Firebase services so the command can be interpreted more flexibly. If remote command understanding is unavailable or you are out of AI credits, ShutterVoice uses Apple on-device or local rule-based command handling where possible.
ShutterVoice does not intentionally store raw microphone recordings after a command session ends.
Camera and Photos Permissions
ShutterVoice may request camera access so you can take a photo to edit.
ShutterVoice may request Photos access so you can choose images to edit and save edited images back to your Photos library. When saving images, ShutterVoice uses add-only Photos access where supported.
If you use iCloud Photos or Apple device backup, photos you save to Apple Photos or data managed by Apple may be handled under Apple’s privacy practices.
Local Storage on Your Device
ShutterVoice stores some information locally on your device so the app can function, including:
Recent photos, if “Keep local recents” is enabled. These are stored locally in the app’s storage and can be cleared or turned off in the app.
Saved looks or editing recipes that you create.
App preferences, including local recents settings and voice feedback settings.
AI credit counters, purchase-related entitlement state, and processed transaction records needed to avoid duplicating credit grants.
Temporary handoff images used when opening content from Share Sheet, Shortcuts, Visual Intelligence, or other Apple system surfaces.
You can remove locally stored app data by using available in-app controls, clearing local recents, or deleting the app from your device.
Firebase, Google, and Gemini Services
ShutterVoice uses Firebase and Google services for certain app functions, including anonymous Firebase authentication, Firebase App Check, Firebase Remote Config, and Firebase AI Logic/Gemini features.
Anonymous Firebase authentication creates a non-named identifier for the app installation so Firebase-backed features can operate. Firebase App Check helps protect the app’s backend access. Firebase Remote Config is used to fetch AI model configuration and availability.
When you use Gemini-powered features, Google/Firebase may receive technical information and the content necessary to process your request, such as selected photos, edit instructions, voice-command transcripts, masks, request timing, device/app identifiers, IP address, and service diagnostics. Google and Firebase handle this information under their own privacy and security terms.

Apple Services and Purchases
ShutterVoice uses Apple services such as StoreKit, Photos, Camera, Speech, Siri Shortcuts, Share Sheet, and Visual Intelligence where available.
Subscriptions and one-time AI credit purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. ShutterVoice receives purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features, manage credits, and restore purchases. Payment details are handled by Apple, not by Jamsoft Inc.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
ShutterVoice does not use advertising SDKs or third-party ad networks. ShutterVoice does not sell user data. ShutterVoice does not use tracking to follow you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Firebase and Apple services used by the app may process technical, diagnostic, security, purchase, or service-operation information as described in their own policies.
Metadata and Exports
When ShutterVoice saves edited images, the app limits exported metadata to safe image properties where possible. Source photo metadata is not broadly preserved by default. If you save an edited image to Apple Photos, that saved image is then managed by Apple Photos and any Apple services you have enabled.
Children’s Privacy
ShutterVoice is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction. Because ShutterVoice does not require named accounts, we generally do not know the age of a user.
Parents or guardians should supervise children’s use of photo, voice, purchase, and AI features.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you clear it, change the related setting, or delete the app.
AI requests, Firebase identifiers, App Check data, Remote Config requests, Apple purchase records, and other service-related records may be retained by Apple, Google, or Firebase according to their policies.
Jamsoft Inc. does not operate a separate account system for ShutterVoice. If you contact us about privacy or deletion, we may need information from you to understand the request, and we may not be able to identify device-specific anonymous records without your help.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures available through Apple and Firebase, including Apple permission prompts, app sandboxing, local device storage protections, Firebase App Check, and anonymous Firebase authentication for supported backend features. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but ShutterVoice is designed to limit data access and keep local editing local where possible.
International Processing
Apple, Google, Firebase, and related service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using features that rely on those services, you understand that information may be processed where those providers operate.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on the page or location where this Privacy Policy is made available. Changes are effective when posted.
