Privacy Policy for Jamsoft Inc.
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
Jamsoft Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in Clifff, our iOS application available on the Apple App Store.
Information We Do Not Collect Directly
Clifff does not require you to create a Jamsoft account. We do not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or other account profile information to use the App.
We do not sell your information. We do not use advertising tracking. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. Based on the current app code, Clifff does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Firebase Authentication, Firestore, or Firebase Storage.
Information You Choose to Provide to the App
Clifff helps you create meeting agendas, document summaries, action items, reminders, calendar events, and answers about saved work. To do that, the App may process information you choose to provide, including:
Documents you import, such as PDFs, text files, RTF files, HTML, markdown, CSV/TSV, office documents, presentations, and other readable files.
Text you paste into the App.
Dictated meeting notes and the resulting transcript.
Generated agendas, summaries, stakeholders, topics, decisions, notes, action items, owners, due dates, tags, pinned/archive status, and saved-item metadata.
Questions you ask about your saved agendas and summaries.
This content may include personal information if you choose to include personal information in the documents, notes, transcripts, questions, or generated content you create in the App.
Local Storage on Your Device
Clifff is designed to keep your work local by default. Saved agendas, summaries, settings, usage counters, app icon preferences, tags, archive/pin status, and related metadata are stored on your device using Apple-provided local storage.
By default, Clifff does not retain the full raw source text from imported documents after generating saved work. If you enable the “Keep Source Text” setting, Clifff stores raw extracted source text in protected local app storage so future answers can use richer context. This source-text storage is local to your device and is marked to be excluded from device backup.
Clifff may also create temporary export files, such as PDF or markdown files, when you choose to export or share an agenda.
iCloud and Device Backups
The current version of Clifff does not implement its own iCloud or CloudKit sync for saved agendas, summaries, or source documents.
Depending on your Apple device settings, iOS device backups may include some local app data. Apple controls iCloud Backup and device backup behavior. Your use of Apple services is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, available at apple.com/privacy.
On-Device AI and Local Processing
Clifff uses local analysis and, on supported devices and operating systems, Apple on-device intelligence features to create agendas, summaries, and answers. When on-device processing is available, your document text and saved-work context are processed on your device for those features.
If on-device AI is unavailable, disabled, or cannot complete a request, Clifff may fall back to local rule-based processing unless you have enabled Premium AI as described below.
Premium AI and Firebase/Google Services
Clifff includes an optional Premium AI feature for eligible subscribers. Premium AI is off by default. When you enable Premium AI, Clifff may send the relevant document text, saved-work context, or question to Google/Firebase AI services to generate an agenda, summary, action items, or answer.
Clifff uses Firebase services for Premium AI configuration and operation, including Firebase AI Logic, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Core, and Firebase App Check. Firebase Remote Config may be used to choose which Gemini model is available. Firebase App Check helps protect access to the Premium AI service.
When Premium AI is used, Google/Firebase may process technical information necessary to provide and secure the service, such as app identifiers, installation or device-related identifiers, App Check tokens, network request metadata, configuration requests, and the content sent for AI generation. This processing is governed by Google/Firebase terms and privacy practices.
We do not use Premium AI unless you have access to the feature and the Premium AI setting is enabled.
Speech Recognition and Microphone Access
If you choose to dictate notes, Clifff requests microphone access and speech recognition permission. The microphone is used to capture your dictated meeting notes, and speech recognition is used to turn speech into text.
When supported by the device and Apple speech recognition system, Clifff requests on-device recognition. If on-device recognition is not available, Apple’s speech recognition services may process speech recognition requests according to Apple’s privacy practices. Clifff uses the resulting transcript to create a meeting document inside the App.
Document Import and OCR
When you import documents, Clifff reads the selected files only after you choose them. The App extracts text locally where possible. For PDFs or images that do not contain readable text, Clifff may use Apple Vision OCR on the device to recognize text.
Clifff does not upload imported documents to a Jamsoft server. Imported document content is only sent to Premium AI services if Premium AI is enabled and used for that request.
Calendar and Reminders
If you choose to schedule an agenda in Calendar, Clifff requests Calendar access and creates an event using your generated agenda details.
If you choose to send action items to Reminders, Clifff requests Reminders access and creates reminders using the selected action item titles, notes, owners, sources, and due dates.
Clifff uses Calendar and Reminders only when you request those exports. Calendar and Reminders data is handled by Apple’s system services and your Apple account settings.
Spotlight, Siri, Shortcuts, and System Features
Clifff supports Apple system features such as Spotlight search, App Intents, Siri, Shortcuts, and related system surfaces. To make saved work searchable and actionable, Clifff may index saved agenda and summary titles, descriptions, document names, tags, and searchable generated text with Apple’s local Core Spotlight index on your device.
These integrations are handled through Apple system frameworks. Removing saved items in Clifff also removes their related Spotlight entries.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Clifff offers optional subscriptions through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment information are handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card information.
The App checks your App Store subscription entitlement to determine whether Clifff Pro features are active.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Clifff does not use advertising tracking. Clifff does not use third-party advertising services. Based on the current app code, Clifff does not use analytics tools to collect usage patterns, device analytics, or behavioral analytics for Jamsoft.
Some Apple or Google/Firebase services used by the App may process technical information needed to operate, secure, or provide their services, as described in this Policy and in their own privacy documentation.
Children’s Privacy
Clifff is not intended to collect personal information from children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Clifff does not require user accounts, we do not ask users to provide their age.
Data Deletion and Control
You control the content you add to Clifff. You may delete saved agendas and summaries in the App. Deleting saved work removes the related local saved item, related protected source-text reference if present, and related Spotlight search entry.
You may also disable Premium AI and Keep Source Text in Clifff settings. Deleting the App from your device removes local app data according to iOS behavior.
Third-Party Services
Clifff uses Apple system services and frameworks, including StoreKit, Speech Recognition, Calendar, Reminders, Spotlight, Shortcuts, App Intents, and on-device Apple intelligence features where available.
Clifff also uses Google/Firebase services for optional Premium AI functionality and configuration, including Firebase AI Logic, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Core, and Firebase App Check.
We do not integrate third-party services for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our privacy practices. Changes are effective when posted or otherwise made available.
