Privacy Policy for Career.OS

Jamsoft Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Career.OS, our iOS and iPadOS application available on the Apple App Store, handles information.

Information You Choose to Store in Career.OS

Career.OS is a career planning, job search, résumé, interview practice, and coaching app. The app may store information you choose to enter, import, scan, record, or generate, including your name, current role, location, target roles, skills, salary goals, work preferences, portfolio link, work authorization notes, résumé text, résumé versions, job applications, company names, role titles, job descriptions, application status, notes, follow-up dates, interview rounds, practice transcripts, coaching prompts, AI-generated coaching responses, networking contacts you manually create, learning resources, reminders, and related career planning information.

Career.OS does not create Jamsoft user accounts. Career.OS does not sell your personal information. Career.OS does not use third-party advertising, ad tracking, or cross-app tracking.

Local Storage and iCloud Integration

Career.OS stores your app data locally on your device. When iCloud is available and enabled, Career.OS uses Apple CloudKit to sync your Career.OS data across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account.

Data Storage: Information you create in Career.OS is stored on your device and, if iCloud sync is active, in your private iCloud account.

Data Access: iCloud syncing is handled by Apple’s CloudKit service. Your iCloud data is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy, available at apple.com/privacy.

Local Fallback: If iCloud or CloudKit is unavailable, Career.OS uses local device storage so the app can continue to function.

AI Features

Career.OS includes AI-powered coaching features. Some features may run on-device, including Apple Intelligence where available and enabled. Career.OS may also offer Gemini cloud coaching through Firebase when you enable or use Gemini features.

If you use Gemini via Firebase, Career.OS may send the prompt and selected career context needed for that request through Firebase to Gemini. Depending on your settings and the task, this may include your profile context, résumé text, tracked application details, job descriptions, interview transcript text, or shared job-post text.

Career.OS includes privacy controls that let you disable Gemini, choose on-device modes where available, review context before sending it to Gemini, exclude résumé context from Gemini prompts, and exclude application context from Gemini prompts.

Camera, Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Documents

Career.OS may request access to device features only when needed for optional app functionality.

Camera: Used only when you scan a résumé or job posting.

Microphone: Used only when you record interview practice answers.

Speech Recognition: Used only to transcribe optional interview practice answers. Career.OS can prefer on-device transcription when supported by your device and settings.

Files and Documents: Used only when you choose to import files such as PDFs, DOCX files, text files, or images for résumé or job-post processing.

You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.

Notifications, Widgets, Live Activities, Shortcuts, and Search

Career.OS may use local notifications for follow-up reminders and daily career actions. You can turn reminders and detailed reminder content on or off in the app or in iOS Settings.

Career.OS may also use Apple system features such as widgets, Live Activities, Siri Shortcuts, App Intents, the share extension, and Spotlight search. These features may display limited Career.OS information on your device, such as role titles, company names, application status, next actions, interview timing, or shared job-post imports.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Career.OS uses Apple StoreKit for subscriptions and consumable mock-interview credit packs. Payments, refunds, purchase history, and subscription management are handled by Apple. Career.OS stores limited entitlement and credit information needed to unlock purchased features.

Non-Personal Information and Analytics

Career.OS does not use third-party advertising tools or ad tracking. The current app configuration does not enable Firebase Analytics.

Firebase Remote Config may be used to retrieve configuration for Gemini model availability and runtime behavior. Firebase App Check may be used to help protect Firebase-backed AI access from abuse.

Third-Party Services

Career.OS may use the following third-party or platform services to provide app functionality:

Apple services, including iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit, Apple Intelligence, Siri Shortcuts, App Intents, widgets, Live Activities, Spotlight, speech recognition, and system permissions.

Google Firebase services, including Firebase Core, Firebase App Check, Firebase Remote Config, and Firebase AI Logic for Gemini cloud coaching.

These services may process technical information necessary to provide their features, secure requests, process purchases, deliver configuration, or operate AI functionality.

Data Retention and Deletion

Career.OS keeps your app data for as long as you keep it in the app. You can delete individual records where supported. You can also use the “Reset all data” option in Career.OS settings to clear Career.OS records from the app on your device.

If iCloud sync is active, changes and deletions may sync through iCloud according to Apple’s CloudKit behavior. Apple may retain purchase and subscription records according to Apple’s policies. Google and Firebase processing are subject to Google’s applicable service terms and retention practices for the services used.

Children’s Privacy

Career.OS is not directed to children under the age of 13 or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Career.OS, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Security

Career.OS uses Apple platform storage, iCloud/CloudKit where enabled, HTTPS-based service connections, and Firebase App Check for supported Firebase requests. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but Career.OS is designed to limit unnecessary data transmission and provide user controls for cloud AI use.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy. Changes are effective when posted.
