Privacy Policy for Jamsoft Inc.

LLast Updated: May 15, 2026

Jamsoft Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Arcmind, our iOS research notebook app, handles information.

Overview

Arcmind is designed as a local-first research notebook. You can save research sources, notes, website text, PDFs, screenshots, pasted text, YouTube transcript text, and voice-note transcripts. Arcmind can generate local summaries, evidence snippets, concept links, contradictions, study guides, and briefing drafts.

We do not create user accounts in Arcmind. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your research content for advertising. Arcmind does not include advertising features or third-party advertising tracking.

Information You Provide to the App

Arcmind stores the content you choose to add, including:

Research source titles
Project names
Source references or URLs
Pasted notes or transcript text
Extracted PDF text
Website text fetched from URLs you enter
OCR text from screenshots or selected images
Voice-note recordings and transcriptions
Generated summaries, concepts, contradictions, flashcards, study guides, evidence snippets, and briefing drafts
Review progress, settings, and usage counters related to app limits and Gemini analysis

This information is stored locally in the app’s on-device SwiftData container unless you choose to use cloud analysis as described below.

Local Storage

Arcmind stores your notebook data on your device. We do not operate a Jamsoft account system or Jamsoft server that stores your Arcmind notebook.

Your device, Apple ID settings, iCloud device backup settings, and Apple system services may affect how local app data is backed up or restored. Those Apple-controlled services are governed by Apple’s privacy policies and your device settings.

Cloud AI Analysis

Arcmind can analyze sources locally by default. Gemini cloud analysis is only used when you explicitly enable Gemini Deep Analysis for a specific source or action.

When you choose Gemini analysis, Arcmind may send the selected source content and limited related notebook context to Google’s Gemini service through Firebase AI Logic so that Gemini can generate enhanced research outputs such as concept clustering, contradictions, study guides, and briefing drafts.

Arcmind also uses Firebase Remote Config to determine which Gemini model is available and Firebase App Check to help protect cloud AI access. These Firebase services may process technical information needed to provide configuration, app integrity, and AI request functionality.

Do not enable Gemini analysis for a source if you do not want that source content or related context sent to Google/Firebase for processing.

Google and Firebase services are governed by Google’s applicable privacy and service terms. You can review Google’s Privacy Policy at:

Website Fetching

If you enter a website URL and choose to fetch it, Arcmind uses your device’s network connection to request that web page and extract readable text. The website operator may receive normal web request information, such as your IP address and request details, as part of loading the page. We do not receive a copy of the website content unless you separately send that content through Gemini analysis.

Voice Notes and Speech Recognition

If you record a voice note, Arcmind requests microphone permission. The recording is created temporarily on your device so it can be transcribed.

Arcmind uses Apple’s Speech Recognition framework to transcribe voice notes. Depending on Apple’s system behavior, device capabilities, language, and settings, speech recognition may be processed on device or by Apple. Apple’s handling of speech recognition is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and your device settings.

Photos, Files, and Clipboard

Arcmind can import selected PDFs, text files, images, screenshots, pasted text, and clipboard text when you choose those actions.

Arcmind only processes the file, image, screenshot, or clipboard content you select or paste into the app. Selected images may be processed with on-device OCR to extract text. We do not receive your photo library, files, clipboard, or imported documents on Jamsoft servers.

Spotlight, Shortcuts, and Sharing

If Spotlight indexing is enabled, Arcmind may index source titles, summaries, keywords, and source text in Apple’s on-device Spotlight search index so you can find saved sources from system search.

Arcmind supports Apple App Shortcuts and App Intents. If you use Siri, Shortcuts, or other Apple system features with Arcmind, the information you provide through those Apple features is handled according to Apple’s privacy policies and your device settings.

Arcmind also lets you export or share notebook content, briefing drafts, concept maps, and memos using Apple’s sharing tools. When you share or export content, you control where that content goes.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Arcmind offers optional paid subscriptions through Apple StoreKit. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, billing, and subscription management are handled by Apple.

We do not receive your full payment card information. Apple may provide subscription status information needed for the app to unlock Pro features.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

Arcmind does not use Firebase Analytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party advertising tracking in the current app code.

We do not use your notebook content to track you across apps or websites. We do not sell your data.

Information We Do Not Collect Through Arcmind

Arcmind does not require you to provide a name, email address, phone number, or Jamsoft account login.

Arcmind does not collect precise location data.

Arcmind does not access Contacts, Calendar, Health, or similar personal databases unless a future version adds a feature that clearly requests permission.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your Arcmind notebook data remains on your device until you delete it, erase sources inside the app, or remove the app from your device.

Arcmind includes an option to erase saved sources from the local app database. You can also delete the app to remove app data from your device, subject to Apple’s backup and restore behavior.

Content sent to Google/Firebase for Gemini analysis is handled according to Google’s applicable policies and service terms.

Children’s Privacy

Arcmind is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Jamsoft-operated account systems because Arcmind does not use Jamsoft accounts.

Security

We use Apple platform storage, permission prompts, StoreKit, and Firebase App Check-supported cloud access to help protect app functionality. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You should avoid adding highly sensitive content to cloud AI analysis unless you are comfortable with that processing.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted with a new “Last Updated” date. Changes are effective when posted.
