This Privacy Policy explains how Jamsoft Inc ("Pantri," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Pantri mobile application and any website or service that links to this Privacy Policy.
Pantri is a local-first meal planning, recipe, pantry, grocery, and nutrition app. Most of the information you create in Pantri is stored on your device unless you choose to use optional features such as iCloud sync, recipe sharing, Apple Health integration, or subscriber-only AI features.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect and process the following categories of information, depending on how you use Pantri:
User Content
This may include recipes, ingredients, instructions, recipe photos, meal plans, grocery lists, pantry inventory, nutrition logs, calorie estimates, ratings, favorites, saved collections, and other content you create or save in the app.
Subscription Information
If you purchase Pantri Premium, billing is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card number or full billing details. Apple may provide us with limited information such as your subscription status, product type, and renewal or expiration information so that premium features can be enabled.
iCloud and CloudKit Data
If you enable iCloud sync or sharing features, your Pantri content may be synced through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services. This may include recipes, meal plans, and related content you choose to sync or share.
Apple Health Data
If you choose to connect Apple Health and grant permission, Pantri may write nutrition information that you choose to log from the app to Apple Health. Health permissions are controlled by you through Apple’s system settings.
Subscriber-Only AI Feature Inputs
If you use subscriber-only AI features, Pantri may process text and images you submit, including food or drink queries, food photos used for calorie estimation, receipt photos or receipt text used for receipt parsing, recipe text used for smart cleanup or drafting, and pantry or meal-planning prompts used for suggestions or optimization.
These subscriber-only AI features use Google Gemini as the AI provider. When you use these features, the text and images you submit may be transmitted to Google Gemini for analysis and response generation.
Technical Information
We and our service providers may process limited technical information needed to operate the app and its features, such as app version, device type, operating system version, security verification signals, and configuration data.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide the app’s recipe, pantry, grocery, meal-planning, and nutrition features.
Save your content locally on your device.
Sync your content to iCloud or CloudKit if you enable those features.
Verify subscription status and enable premium features.
Write nutrition information to Apple Health when you choose to log it and grant permission.
Generate subscriber-only AI responses, suggestions, estimates, and draft outputs.
Protect the app, prevent misuse, and maintain feature availability and security.
Respond to support requests, troubleshooting needs, or legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
With Apple, for App Store subscriptions, iCloud or CloudKit sync and sharing, and Apple Health integration when you choose to use those features.
With Google Gemini, when needed to provide subscriber-only AI features that you choose to use. This may include food photos, receipt photos, recipe text, and other prompts you submit for AI processing.
With people you choose to share with, if you intentionally share recipes or other content through the iOS share sheet or share links.
If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your Pantri content or Apple Health data for third-party advertising.
4. Google Gemini and Subscriber-Only AI Features
Subscriber-only AI features are optional. If you do not want your text or images transmitted to Google Gemini, do not use those features.
If you use these features, Pantri may send submitted text and images to Google Gemini to generate the requested output. These features may include calorie estimation, smart recipe cleanup, pantry rescue suggestions, receipt intelligence, meal plan optimization, and similar premium AI tools.
We do not intentionally retain submitted AI inputs on our own servers after processing. However, outputs you choose to save in the app may remain stored locally on your device and may sync to iCloud if you enable iCloud sync.
Google may process submitted content as needed to provide the response, maintain service integrity, and support security and abuse prevention. Your use of subscriber-only AI features is also subject to any applicable Google policies governing those services.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Most Pantri data is stored locally on your device until you edit, delete, reset, or remove the app.
If you enable iCloud or CloudKit sync, synced content may remain in your Apple-managed iCloud or CloudKit storage until deleted by you or removed according to Apple’s systems and policies.
Limited subscription state may be stored locally so the app can determine whether premium features are available.
We do not intentionally keep submitted AI prompts, food photos, or receipt photos in our own systems after processing, except to the extent a saved output becomes part of your app content.
6. Your Choices and Controls
You can enable or disable iCloud sync in the Pantri settings.
You can grant or revoke Apple Health permissions at any time through the Health app and iOS privacy settings.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store account settings.
You can choose not to use AI-powered features if you do not want prompts or images processed through cloud AI services.
You can delete content inside the app and use the app’s reset tools to remove stored recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and related local data.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request export of personal information, subject to applicable law.
Because Pantri is primarily local-first, many of these controls are available directly within the app, on your device, in your Apple account settings, and in iOS privacy settings. If you have a privacy request we can help with directly, please contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
Pantri is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Pantri, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address the issue.
10. International Use
If you use Pantri outside the country where [Company Legal Name] is based, your information may be processed in other countries where Apple or our service providers operate. By using Pantri, you understand that data handling may occur in jurisdictions with different privacy laws than your own.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice inside the app or through other appropriate means.
